Well we headed out this morning and put the high speed lures in at 130 feet. We trolled to the ledge and covered quite a bit of ground without a strike. We then slowed down and put out some skirted ballyhoo and picked up a nice wahoo right away. We trolled for a few more hours and had a few missed strikes and decided it was time to bottom fish. We dropped on the ledge picked up a few nice red porgies. a big scamp grouper, and got freight trained a couple times. We picked up and headed inshore about 5 miles and smoked the huge triggerfish, some big red porgies, a few yellowtail snapper, and a 15lb red grouper. Thanks to NOAA the grouper and all the beeliners we caught had to go back. We ended with a nice bag of triggerfish up to 5lbs, the wahoo, limited out on red porgies up to 4lbs, a beautiful queen triggerfish and tossed some nice grouper overboard. We left the dock at 5am and got back to the dock at 9pm. You do the math! It was a long day but what a great time we had talking trash, catching fish and just fellowshipping with friends!
