We went out of Vilano this morning with our sights set on catching some fish. We started out strong on Sea Bass but had to throw them all back due to government regulations. Can't wait till June 1st. We went from spot to spot, picking up sea bass, a couple short grouper, and before you know it, it looks like Allen has hooked into a submarine. He said he had a big one, and by the way he was doing his best to stay in the boat, I'd say he was right. After about 20 minutes of fighting, we finally got the beast in the net and in the boat. Turned out to be a 40lb cobia. What a treat. We headed back in trying to beat the storm front but we fell short by about 5 miles. When we saw the water spout 5 miles offshore and could hear the thunder growl ahead, the pucker factor begins to set in. We were greeted by 35-45mph winds, 5-7 foot seas, lightning, and the worst 3 mile ride you could imaging right into the storm. We held it together and squeezed back in the inlet. We were wet, cold, and slightly nervous after the experience lol, but we went fishing , caught fish, and came home safe! Great job guys!!
