We had a hard time finding bait this morning so we headed offshore empty. A friend of mine had some extra bait that he shared with me to get us started. We started out trolling but had no luck. We then started bottom fishing and caught some nice snapper and some sea bass. As we were moving from one spot to another, we saw something in the water off the port bow so we circled around and realized it was a sailfish. As we approached, the fish disappeared. I let a live bait swim way from the boat and the sail came out from under the shadow of the boat and grabbed the bait right under our noses! After about 30 minutes, we landed the sail, took some nice pictures and released it for a nother day. Great crew, great fish, and the first sail of the year!! Great job guys!!
