Today was interesting being the first Saturday of red snapper season. We caught live bait fairly quickly and headed offshore. The first spot we checked already had 5 boats on it when we rolled (floated) up. We hopped offshore a few more miles and picked up a nice 10lb snapper. Left there and headed out a little farther. When we got to the 3rd area, we were greeted with 14 boats all scattered about the place. We bounced around trying to pick up some fish and finally found them. We drifted a few times and got our limit. A storm ended our day a little early so we headed for the hill. We had a couple close encounters with lightining but we made it back to the dock safely. Red Snapper for supper!
