One thing I love about fishing offshore is you never know what to expect. Today that was a hindrance because after yesterday I had a game plan in mind. Catch pogies quickly and catch kings again. With that said, yesterday the pogies were so thick you could walk on them and it didn't matter where you went, they were there. I thought my plan was reasonable! However, this morning finding them was like a convict search, several boats looking both to the north and to the south, both down the beach and off the beach. By the time they were found (great job Team Blue Steel) we were about 22 miles in the wrong direction so we gave up and headed offshore. No live bait could be found so thankfully I had dead bait for bottom fishing. We had a pretty good day catching red snapper, sea bass, ring tails, and sharks. The rods stayed bent and we put some fish on the dock to eat. Great job guys, way to grind it out!!
