There's just something about a 7-9lb sheepshead on 15-17lb tackle in 25 feet of water that puts a smile on your face, that not even getting hung and broke off several times can take away from you. I absolutely love catching Sheepshead!! Don't get me wrong, they can be hard to catch, and they can frustrate the sourness out of you; but once you get it, you'll be watching the calendar, waiting for your next shot at them! They fight like you would not believe and they taste even better. Derek and I bounced around this morning, fishing each spot thoroughly and diligently and caught fish each time we stopped. The fish seemed to be intermittent, but bit most of the morning overall. We ended up with 10 sheepshead up to 9lbs, 1 black drum about 7lbs, 3 black sea bass, a ringtail porgy and an out of place croaker. We lost several other nice fish to pulled hooks and missed opportunity but it ended up to be a nice day. The Sheepshead are still here so book a trip soon!
