 Tuesday, October 14, 2008 - The Tweedy's Back
Seas: horrible    Water Temp: 76°F Crew: Paul, Susan, Grace, and Ian Tweedy
Moon:     Location: St. Johns River
Species: 8 Trout
70 Virginia Croaker
Category:
Report: Today I had a wonderful family on board looking to just have some fun. Paul and Susan had 2 great 6 year old kids, Ian and Grace. Offshore was not an option once again due to the 35mph winds from the northeast so we stayed inshore, trying to put the kids on some croakers. We finally got anchored in a good spot and went to town. These kids are tough, Grace and Ian both pulled in the croakers one after the other until it was time to go. These croakers did not stand a chance against the sheer power of these kids. They ripped and reeled and kept their rods bent until the fish flew over the gun wales and into the bucket! A couple great kids and a couple great parents giving these guys the exposure to the outdoors every child should have the opportunity to enjoy. I really enjoyed watching these 2 children forget everything else going on and just focus on having fun, relaxing, and catching some fish. We  had plenty of smiles, discussion on bragging rights, and even had some trash talk. Final count: 70 virginia croakers, 8 yellow mouth trout, a few toadfish, a couple pinfish, and some mangove snapper. The kids also hand fed fresh pogies to some pelicans and seagulls at the dock after the trip. Several first's today. It was great! Ya'll kept the rods bent!! Keep up the good work Paul and Susan. Job well done!!

We think Captain Chad is pretty cool too! We look forward to our next trip with you. Our thanks to Clint for his part in making our trip so successful! The fish were awesome on the grill. I am very pleased with our decision to fish with you Captain. Take care and keep those rods bent.   Posted by: Susan Tweedy
