Talk about mixing hunting with fishing. We covered 187 miles on the water today hunting fish. We left Mayport at 0530 with the intention of traveling SE towards St. Augustine but the sea conditions didn't allow that. We made it to the ledge and trolled and trolled and trolled. We caught 2 dolphin, one being 22lbs! After hearing of only a couple boats doing decent, conditions didn't seem like we were going to be catching many more, we headed in to try some bottom fishing. Good decision! We ran across a new piece of bottom, circled and anchored. Over the next 2 hours, we pulled 19 triggerfish up to 5lbs, 7 red porgies, 2 scamp grouper, an 11lb red grouper, 2 dolphin, and a 75lb bull shark. I really enjoyed the day and the trash talk. It's great to make friends while fishing!! Keep those rods bent!!

What a day! We worked hard, but when you love your work time seems to go by quickly. We had a great day, and had the fish to prove it! Capt. Chad is dialed in that neck of the woods. We WILL be back next year for sure. Don't worry about not being able to take your catch back home either, just keep the fish on ice, just before your flight, bag and wrap with news paper, keep the chest under 50 Lbs. My catch was cold & fresh ,2 chests & 80 lbs of filets two days later! Just can't beat it! See ya'll next year brother!
