We had a half day trip today and the ocean was beautiful, except for the muddy conditions close to shore. Half day offshore trips are hit or miss because you don't really have a lot of time for plan B if plan A doesn't work. Well today was a "hit". We got right on the fish this morning. We had a 25lb amberjack and a 32lb cobia hooked up literally within 45 seconds of arriving. We blistered the amberjack up to 35lbs for 2 hours on the butterfly jig. Greg was playing with the butterfly jig for a while and man did he work it over. He caught several amberjack, a bonito, a 3lb blue runner, and a stud 14lb red snapper. What a variety on artificial huh? For the 3 hours we sat there, we got to enjoy the aquarium; We had large schools of jack crevalle, amberjack, blue runners, spadefish, and a couple more cobia we didn't hook swimming around the boat most of the morning. What a treat. Great job guys. Thanks for a great trip and your generosity!!
